The Holy Grail

Have you ever heard about Jesus' Holy grail?I know there are only a few of people know about this and it's hard for me to accept but I also do not understand this and this is the main reason i've wrote this article,It's for us to learn what is really Jesus' Holy Grail?

The Holy Grail is just one of those things. It's perhaps the most sought-after artifact in the history of the Christian era, except that no one is really quite sure what it is. The most popular notion is also the simplest, and most likely the wrongest too. According to legend, the cup Jesus Christ used at the Last Supper (when exhorting his apostles to vampirism) was saved by a certain Joseph of Arimathea. Joseph, for reasons incomprehensible to anyone but himself, used the cup to catch some stray blood dripping from Jesus during the Crucifixion.Subsequent to this, Joseph took off for parts unknown, where he eventually deposited this cup in a weirdly unreachable location for safekeeping... against whomever. This is a great story... Well, OK, it's an adequate story. The problem is that the tale didn't actually surface until about the 12th Century, when a flurry of so-called "Grail Romances" were penned, presumably based on some pre-existing oral tradition. Once it fully emerged as a cup, the Grail was variously described as a jewel-encrusted golden chalice of fabulous beauty. No one in the 12th century gave much thought to the odds of such a treasure being actually owned by a dirt-poor carpenter from Nazareth. The legend states that many knights and adventurers sought the cup, most notably Parsifal and King Arthur, who apparently wasted much of his reign sending all his best soldiers out in search of the Grail, where they encountered various plights and perils, some fatal. All of these noble and romantic tales are, to use the term favored by historians and archaeologists, crap. Where did this notion come from? The business of Relics had been booming for several centuries by the time the Grail stories began circulating, and people had been trading, selling, shilling and stealing just about any item that could be tenuously connected to Christ since about the 3rd Century. These included the spear that allegedly pierced Christ's side, the cross itself, the cloth of Veronica and, notably, the burial cloth of Jesus, a topic to which we shall return. Arguably, the Grail could simply have been one artifact that no one thought of at the time, notable only for its absence from the catalog of relics. It made for a good story. By far the best and most controversial of these notions was laid out first in a controversial book, "Holy Blood, Holy Grail," which put forth an entirely different theory of the origins of the Grail legend.

Popular theory suggested the word grail itself came from a French or Medieval Latin term for "vessel" or "bowl." The authors of HBHG suggested that one version of the French term for "holy grail" ,"san greal" was a mistranslation of the phrase "sang real," which means Royal Blood. From this jumping off point, the authors really went to town. They extensively researched the Knights Templar, a secret society related to Freemasonry which was long rumored to be protecting some, let's say, "unusual" relics for questionable reasons. At various stages, the Grail legend became very specifically attached to the Templars. However, no Grail turned up when the French monarchy (in collusion with the Vatican) unleashed the Inquisition to exterminate the Templars and seize their treasures. According to HBHG, the Templars were actually an outgrowth of a previous secret society, the Priore de Sion, commissioned with protecting the greatest secret of Christianity, that Jesus had fathered a child with Mary Magdalene, the first in a line of French warrior-kings. According to lore, Magdalene moved to the south of France to raise this child, who became father to the Merovingians, a medieval line of French royalty (historically extinguished, but the conspiracy theory holds that a single heir survives today thanks to the Priore de Sion). The Templars were based in the same region of France that legend associates with Magdalene, and in fact an annual festival still held there today venerates a human skull said to belong to the saint and former whore. This theory was expounded further by later authors, specifically books like "The Templar Revelation" and "The Jesus Conspiracy," which between them manage to create a surprisingly compelling case for the premise that the Shroud of Turin was one of the secret treasures of the Templars. The idea was further exploited by The Da Vinci Code, although the author took substantial liberties in adapting the premise to fiction.

The theory in its most complete form maintains that Jesus was rescued from the cross while still alive and medically treated with a cloth soaked in medicinal herbs of the day. The cloth was wrapped tightly around his body for some time, and the image of Jesus transferred to the cloth (the authors of the "Jesus Conspiracy" actually managed to replicate the image by recreating this technique, sans crucifixion). Under this theory, the Grail is actually the secret of the surviving bloodline of Jesus Christ, protected by the Templars with the assistance of the Church of Rome (which has an obvious interest in maintaining belief in the Resurrection). The Shroud itself was kept under wraps (and discredited through deception by the Church in modern times) because it offers something remarkably close to proof that Jesus didn't die on the cross. What's really surprising about these elaborate theories is how compelling they are. If you read the source material, you find that they require far less suspension of disbelief than theories about Area 51 or the Loch Ness Monster or even the Kennedy Assassinations. No discussion of the Grail legend would be complete without noting the most significant contribution to Western Civilization inspired by the Grail legend — "Monty Pythonand the Holy Grail," which is right up there with "Citizen Kane" according to most well-informed media critics.

With a cast list that includes parts like "2nd Soldier with a Keen Interest in Birds" and "Page Crushed By a Rabbit" and "Sir-Not-Appearing-In-This-Film," the movie successfully lampooned everything every written or thought about the Grail and/or King Arthur time and managed to get through the entire movie without ever actually showing any sort of Grail (except for one false alarm, which was actually a hoax perpetrated by eight-score nubile teenage girls in need of spankings
Helpful Tips From An Expert

Dating and marriage is different today than it was twenty years ago. In today's society, more than 50% of all marriages fail for one reason or another. Just thinking about that makes "commitment" seem scary. It seems that when relationships are faced with challenges, people quit trying. Dating is more like a marathon, trying to date as many people as possible, instead of taking time to get to know someone at a deeper level. For married couples, divorce is not biased. Whether married for thirty years or eight months, the outcome can be the same.

The fact is that relationships, whether dating or married, are hard. Things do not always go perfectly, fighting does occur, and it takes a 100% commitment from both parties to make it a success. Often when people break off a relationship, they feel as though something is missing. The "spark" has gone, leaving one or both people feeling inadequate and unfulfilled.

However, even though the odds are not very good, healthy, and long-lasting relationships are definitely possible and proven by many people. Look at Paul Newman and Joanne Woodard, Danny Devito and Rhea Perlman, or Nancy and Ronald Regan. What secrets do they possess? The answer is that they all work hard at their relationship. They made a decision of choosing to love their mate rather than relying on the "warm and fuzzy" feelings, which everyone knows will fade. By making love a choice you are making a decision that even in the bad times, you stick it out.

Think of it like choosing a car. You pick out the make, model, year, color, and features that you believe are best for you. After driving your car for a couple of months, you realize that perhaps you should have purchased a larger car, or that maybe the leather seats would have been better, or on hot sunny days, the sunroof would have been nice. However, it is now too late so you choose to keep your car and make it work. It is the same for marriage. Not everything will be perfect and there will be major obstacles to overcome but you have made your decision and now you choose to make it work.

Guyz this article is intended really to those who are confused about their relationships,If you really want a strong, stable and losng lasting relationships, you should do everything that has been listed above because that are just facts that I have gathered inmy own little research about handling a proper relationships.Hope that this could help you understand "What Love Is".
Magbalik

Wala na’ng dating pagtingin
Sawa na ba sa ‘king lambing
Wala ka namang dahilan
Bakit bigla na lang nang-iwan
‘Di na alam ang gagawin
Upang ika’y magbalik sa ‘kin
Ginawa ko naman ang lahat
Bakit bigla na lang naghanap
REFRAIN:
Hindi magbabago
Pagmamahal sa iyo
Sana’y pakinggan mo
Ang awit ng pusong ito
CHORUS:
Tulad ng mundong hindi tumitigil sa pag-ikot
Pag-ibig ‘di mapapagod
Tulad ng ilog na hindi tumitigil sa pag-agos
Pag-ibig 'di matatapos

Does anyone of you there who is familiar to this magnificent song?I really dont know why I just love this song so much that as soon as I arrive home, I directly turn on the computer and listen to this for 5-10 times in the youtube.com with the nice music video. The song is about a girl who just somehow lost her feelings for the guy,and the guy right then did everything for the girl just to bring back the original feeling for him and the guy also promised that he will never, ever get tired loving this girl eventhough she loves someone else.

Callalily is the band singing this song and did you know that this song is now the no.1 in myx hit chart defeating sponge cola for the the no. 1 spot. This song really is intended for those has heartaches right now and for those who are missing their loved ones and hoping that someday they will just knock their doors begging you to let him/her in.If you are in this situations right now,my only advice for you is to just keep on loving that person because that does not mean if that person has already love someone else then she don't have the feelings for you anymore,Because it's very hard forgetting those feelings ,that it could last even for many years.

So, for those who has their variety of problems about their love-lives,just look for the song "Magbalik" because any person in this wide universe can really relate to this song and this the reason why it tops the myx hit chart and why this is the ny favorite song.

"As you left and said your good-byes, you forgot to tell my heart how to live without you."
Reactions On Max Schulman's "Love Is a Fallacy"

Max Schulman's “Love is a Fallacy” is one of the best love stories I have ever read in my 14 year life. I really had a hard time understanding the story because of it's unfamiliar terms to me. But by reading it for more than 10 times, it makes me understand it much better and it makes me like the story so much. It talks about one reality in life, when you fall in love ,you are ready to give up everything you own. It was actually a “love triangle”.

I really appreciated the main character. He must really be a nice, kind and sensitive dude. He did everything for the girl and choose to spend the rest of his life just for that girl. That what we boys should to all the girls!.But it still ends up that the girl choose the main character's friend over him,and the worst thing is that Polly choose Petey over him just because he had a raccoon coat. She only liked him just because of that material thing that made him belong to the “Tough Guy” in school, what a dumb reason, right? (But that's just my point )...But how can she choose Petey over this guy who did everything for her and was so true to his feelings? The guy who choose to be with her than Petey, the one she barely even know most especially when it talks about sincerity of love.

For me, love cannot be test by just giving him/her with things. If he gives you flowers and chocolates or not. If he spends a lot on your dates and always treat you for a dinner and an outing. But love? It's how sincere the person is, of how a person is ready to sacrifice his/her happiness to the one he/she love. Most especially? It's not important for me if “my girlfriend” is famous and popular and is known to be one of the known girls, who got the cutest look and used to wear those cute bracelets, earings and other girl stuffs, but what matters most is that i know she is worth to be my girlfriend and I love her not just because of any material things but by the real her without those factors that makes her a“popular girl!”

I really don't have an idea why the story is entitled as “Love is a Fallacy”. Fallacy is defined as erroneousness, an invalid reference or the quality of being deceptive. But is love really a false motion? Maybe when people say that they are not ready yet for that love stuffs and they have their other priorities. But you never choose the person you fell in love to. Most especially you'll never know when that happens and why that happens. So, when love comes your way, you can never avoid it and especially love can never be a false motion because falling in love is beyond ourimaginations.Well,in some points of our everyday lives, things happen for a reason just when she knocks my door and let her in for she has a reason knocking my own door.
Summary of Max Schulman's "Love Is A Fallacy"

Cool was I and logical. Keen, calculating, perspicacious, acute, and astute—I was all of these. My brain was as powerful as a dynamo, as precise as a chemist's scales, as penetrating as a scalpel. And—think of it!—I was only eighteen. It is not often that one so young has such a giant intellect. Take, for example, Petey Bellows, my roommate at the university. Same age, same background, but dumb as an ok. A nice enough fellow, you understand, but nothing upstairs. Emotional type. Unstable. Impressionable. Worst of all, a faddist. Fads, I submit, are the very negation of reason. To be swept up in every new craze that comes along, to surrender yourself to idiocy just because everybody else is doing it—this, to me, is the acme of mindlessness. Not, however, to Petey.

I stroked my chin thoughtfully. It so happened that I knew where to get my hands on a raccoon coat. My father had had one in his undergraduate days; it lay now in a trunk in the attic back home. It also happened that Petey had something I wanted. He didn't have it exactly, but at least he had first rights on it. I refer to his girl, Polly Espy.I had long coveted Polly Espy. Let me emphasize that my desire for this young woman was not emotional in nature. She was, to be sure, a girl who excited the emotions, but I was not one to let my heart rule my head. I wanted Polly for a shrewdly calculated, entirely cerebral reason.I was a freshman in law school. In a few years I would be out in practice. I was well aware of the importance of the right kind of wife in furthering a lawyer's career. The successful lawyers I had observed were, almost without exception, married to beautiful, gracious, intelligent women. With one omission, Polly fitted these specifications perfectly.Beautiful she was. She was not yet of pin-up proportions, but I felt sure that time would supply the lack. She already had the makings.Gracious she was. By gracious I mean full of graces. She had an erectness of carraige, an ease of bearing, a poise that clearly indicated the best of breeding. At table her manners were exquisite. I had seen her at the Kozy Kampus Korner eating the specialty of the house—a sandwich that contained scraps of pot roast, gravy, chopped nuts, and a dipper of sauerkraut—without even getting her fingers moist. Intelligent she was not. In fact, she veered in the opposite direction. But I believed that under my guidance she would smarten up. At any rate, it was worth a try. It is, after all, easier to make a beautiful dumb girl smart than to make an ugly smart girl beautiful.

I sat down in a chair and pretended to read a book, but out of the corner of my eye I kept watching Petey. He was a torn man. First he looked at the coat with the expression of a waif at a bakery window. Then he turned away and set his jaw resolutely. Then he looked back at the coat, with even more longing in his face. Then he turned away, but with not so much resolution this time. Back and forth his head swiveled, desire waxing, resolution waning. Finally, he didn't turn away at all; he just stood and stared with mad lust at the coat.I had my first date with Polly the following evening. This was in the nature of a survey; I wanted to find out just how much work I had to do to get her mind up to the standard I required. I took her first to dinner. "Gee, that was a delish dinner," she said as we left the restaurant. Then I took her to a movie. "Gee, that was a marvy movie," she said as we left the theater. And then I took herhome. "Gee, I had a sensaysh time," she said as she bade me goodnight.I went back to my room with a heavy heart. I had gravely under estimated the size of my task. This girl's lack of information was terrifying. Nor would it be enough merely to supply her with information. First she had to be taught to think. This loomed as a project of no small dimensions, and at first I was tempted to give her back to Petey. But then I got to thinking about her abundant physical charms and about the way she entered a room and the way she handled a knife and fork, and I decided to make an effort.I went about it, as in all things, systematically. I gave her a course in logic. It happened that I, as a law student, was taking a course in logic myself, so I had all the facts at my fingertips. "Polly," I said to her when I picked her up on our next date, "tonight we are going over to the Knoll and talk.I deposited her at the girl's dormitory, where she assured me that she had had a perfectly terrif evening, and I went glumly home to my room. Petey lay snoring in his bed, the raccoon coat huddled like a great hairy beast at his feet. For a moment I considered waking him and telling him that he could have his girl back. It seemed clear that my project was doomed to failure. The girl simply had a logic-proof head. But then I reconsidered. I had wasted one evening; I might as well waste another. Who knew? Maybe somewhere in the extinct crater of her mind a few embers still smoldered. Maybe somehow I could fan them into flame. Admittedly it was not a prospect fraught with hope, but I decided to give it one more try.Seated under the oak the next evening I said, "Our first fallacy tonight is called Ad Misericordiam."She quivered with delight."Listen closely," I said. "A man applies for a job. When the boss asks him what his qualifications are, he replies that he has a wife and six children at home, the wife is a helpless cripple, the children have nothing to eat, no clothes to wear, no shoes on their feet, there are no beds in the house, no coal in the cellar, and winter is coming.

Heartened by the knowledge that Polly was not altogether a cretin, I began a long, patient review of all I had told her. Over and over and over again I cited instances, pointed out flaws, kept hammering away without letup. It was like digging a tunnel. At first everything was work, sweat, and darkness. I had no idea when I would reach the light, or even if I would. But I persisted. I pounded and clawed and scraped, and finally I was rewarded. I saw a chink of light. And then the chink got bigger and the sun came pouring in and all was bright.Five grueling nights this took, but it was worth it. I had made a logician out of Polly; I had taught her to think. My job was done. She was worthy of me at last. She was a fit wife for me, a proper hostess formy many mansions, a suitable mother for my well-heeled children. It must not be thought that I was without love for this girl. Quite the contrary. Just as Pygmalion loved the perfect woman he had fashioned, so I loved mine. The time had come to change our relationship from academic to romantic."Polly, I love you. You are the whole world to me, and the moon and the stars and the constellations of outer space. Please, my darling, say that you will go steady with me, for if you will not, life will be meaningless. I will languish. I will refuse my meals. I will wander the face of the earth, a shambling, hollow-eyed hulk.

With an immense effort of will, I modulated my voice. "All right," I said. "You're a logician. Let's look at this thing logically. How could you choose Petey Bellows over me? Look at me—a brilliant student, a tremendous intellectual, a man with an assured future. Look at Petey—a knot-head, a jitterbug, a guy who'll never know where his next meal is coming from. Can you give me one logical reason why you should go steady with Petey Bellows?"

"I certainly can," declared Polly. "He's got a racoon coat."

Why L-O-V-E hurts

"The game of love is the game of boomerangs...our thoughts, deeds and words return to us sooner or later, and with astounding accuracy.”
- Florence Shinn-

“The way I feel for you, I cannot describe. It’s almost too intense to verbalize. Essentially, you are all I am living for and each day I just need you more & more.”
-Anonymous-

The last quote sounds so corny right? But admit it, it sounds sweet too.

Was there a point in your life wherein you have uttered similar words? Was there a time wherein your whole attention was to a certain person who makes your day even brighter, who makes your life worth living or someone who makes you go crazy in love?

Oh well, here we go again talking about love. Love that really makes me go extreme. Love really is a mysterious word. It can actually launch an ocean of tears when you are hurt, can give the most painful pain in the whole world, and most of all, the happiest feeling you could ever feel.

According to wikipedia.com, “Love is any of a number of emotions and experiences related to a sense of strong affection or profound oneness. Depending on context, love can have a wide variety of intended meanings. Romantic love is seen as a deep, ineffable feeling of intense and tender attraction shared in passionate or intimate attraction and intimate interpersonal and sexual relationships.”

Let us try to look at the painful part of love, getting hurt. Ouch! Hearing the words, “getting hurt” truly is agonizing. Getting hurt and experiencing pain are parts of loving. How will you know that you are already falling in love if you would not get hurt?

I have experienced getting hurt because of love. It was such a tragic event for me. I never expected that love could be so painful. I never expected that instead of getting discouraged, I felt that my love for this certain person got even stronger and become more intensified. It was such a learning experience for me. At the start of my “game”, I knew that I was already falling in love. But, when I got hurt and felt so much pain, that was the only time wherein I fully understood what truly love is.

Getting hurt is the beginning of new transition in your life. It is easy to look at an experience in a negative way, but I would like to challenge you to view your that painful feeling as a new beginning -- a real chance for finding your Mr. or Ms. Right.

Most people say that when you get hurt because of love, meaning, you truly are loving. Meaning, the person who hurt you is someone really close to your heart and someone you really treasure. If you will ask me, LOVE and PAIN always go together. That statement might sound funny or weird but that is true. Believe me.

“If you would not lose anything, you would not know what you really have.”

"Real love hurts; Real love makes you totally vulnerable and open; Real love will take you far beyond yourself; Therefore real love will devastate you. If love does not shatter you, you do not know love." -Anonymous-

On Being Taught by Students

Have you ever tried handling a class? Have you ever tried discussing the lessons for your classmates? Have you ever tried being a teacher for even 1 day? Well, UP High students experienced that in the KYSD or KNOW YOUR SCHOOL DAY. In this three-day event, students are the one serving as teachers. They are the one who discusses the lessons for us and serves as our second parents.

KYSD aims to develop the potentials we have in ourselves and that is why they let the students serve as teachers. Obviously, the KYSD mentors and we were shy at first just because we are not use of calling them as madams or sir and for them it is very hard thinking that they will commit a mistake they would be laughed out. But thought all this, the class was even so fun. The KYSD mentors have delivered the lessons very well into our brains. As students also, we respected them just as we respected our teachers and participated very well in the discussions. Other UP students does not serve as teachers, others were clerk, guidance counselor and even principal for 3 days and just like the student teachers, they have done their job well. As in, we never felt that the one acting as teachers, principal and others were only students, just because they have done a great job.

Developing one's potential is very important. Through this, you can gain your confidence and courage first. After that, talent just comes your way. Like the KYSD applicants, all do them really has the potential but the problem is that they did not possess it yet. Even though only few were accepted to be the student teachers that do not mean that, others do not have the potential. We all have it.

For us second years, we have 3 to 4 teachers per subject and each one taking turns in discussing the subject mater. Even though, they have given us a seatwork right after the discussion, there is really no problem answering it because we have fully understand what they've discussed to us.

It's sad to think, but the 'KNOW YOUR SCHOOL DAY” or KYSD lasted only for 3 days and by the last day, a closing ceremony was held at the UPHS open stage, where the student teachers were given a certificate of appreciation from the faculty. The teachers were also very thankful for the student teachers and for the students also. Who really respected each other. The student teachers who did their job well and the students who really participated in the discussions. Ever since I entered this university, I know that I will really learn a lot from this school and I was indeed right. All they have wanted is just for us to learn, they will do everything necessary just for us to learn in which I am very happy and at the same time very thankful to my school, UP HIGH CEBU. If not because of the UP, probably I am not as well informed as right now. So, thank you very much for everything, especially to my teachers whom I considered as my second parents.

RANONLINE:ADDICTIVE GAME

RAN ONLINE is just a magnificent game, that's why I'm so obssessed and addict in playing this game. With a 3-d character, nice in-game graphics, there's really no reason why you won't love this game. Also this has complete details from it's history and other stuffs that could pop-your eyes out.Wanna know how it all started?O.K.A.Y, I''ll give the beggining of ran online,on where it all started before.Did you know that I have 3 characters in ran namely KOBE,Scavengers and HoTFreaKinMaMa.They're all level 50 and above. So here's now the beginning of ran online.

The Beginning:

The Omen began 18 years ago. A terrifying solar eclipse engulfed the skies above Asia. From this gaping darkness, a vicious torrent of meteors hurtled down, leaving a wake of smoldering rubble and scorched earth. Chaos and paranoia swept over Asia, forcing the rest of the world to quarantine the continent, an island onto itself. Two years later, from this apocalyptic wreckage, a clandestine organization known only as the Sacred Financial Group ascended to power, shrouded in myth and mystery, brimming with untold wealth and influence. The Group would found four schools, each one unique in its own way: Sacred Gate, Mystic Peak, Phoenix, and Leonair Campus.Only the smartest, strongest, fittest students were recruited to these institutions. Yet beneath its quiet façade of learning and academia, an unsettling truth began to surface. These were no ordinary schools. Their infrastructures, rising menacingly above all others, were strange and alien in design, as if echoing an ominous, inescapable fate. Suspicion grew. Where these sports institutions meant to breed a new generation of genetically-enhanced athletes? Where they military centers meant to recruit and train bio-engineered soldiers?Soon, rumors began to spread about the alarming activities conducted within the four campuses. Students, they said, were being trained in cryptic, deadly forms of combat beyond the understanding of even the military’s most accomplished intelligence agencies; they were studying forbidden scrolls and texts believed to hold incomprehensible, supernatural power—power to create as well as destroy; and being taught the use of weapons exiled long ago for their genocidal role in the Ancient Wars. The question was: Why? Why train these students in such brutal arts? The answer would arrive with startling implications. A dimensional riff some attribute to the meteor storm had opened the gates to a demonic realm, poisoning the living and possessing the dead.Only the four schools proved immune to this paranormal plague. Force shields were believed to protect the boundaries of the four schools and its students, keeping them safe within the schools’ borders. The shields, however, were beginning to show signs of weakness. There were reports of creatures infiltrating school grounds and of students being taken almost daily, never to be seen again. It was only a matter of time… Leonair in the East was the first of the four to fall, its entire student populace devoured seemingly overnight, the campus left a graveyard of memory. Of those who have attempted to brave the haunted campus grounds of Leonair since, few have returned, and those that have, speke tremulously of a presence so dark, so evil, it would in time, come to destroy all mankind. So many questions remain unanswered. What caused the meteor shower? From what dimension did this supernatural evil originate from? How did the Sacred Financial Group know of the storm’s destructive, malevolent power? Today, everything is calm and peaceful at the three schools, even as they wonder which of them is next. When will their time come? How long will their shields hold? For now, the students continue their studies. Waiting. Training. Praying...

Oh!!!What a story It is!!!Eventhough there are others out there who doesn't fully understand it,It's just okay but if you want to fully understand it,You should try playing this game because men It's really,WOW!!!,You can register at ranonline.com.ph and then after registering you're now ready for some kind of action.ITS ON!!!!

I'M A CERTIFIED CALLALISTA!!!

Philippines has now been colonized by so many bands that you are so confused sometimes that what band sings this song.I'll go straight to the point right now,"WHAT BAND IS THE BEST", in my own i would say CALLALILY.I just love their songs very much and their album which is Destination X,Y,Z is already out with single tracks like stars, take my hand, and my favorite which is magbalik. And I'll give you right now a brief history of this awesome band.

A quote by Henry Miller stated, “One's destination is never a place but rather a new way of looking things.”However unpredictable life maybe, Callalily entered a pond aspiring to be a big fish but still remained unperturbed and ready for a battle. Thus inspired the title of their debut album “Destination XYZ.”Callalily (pronounced as Cala-lily) is actually a new pop alternative band. Composed of Kean Cipriano, 18 on vocals; Aaron Paul Ricafrente, 19 on bass guitars; Tatsi Jamnaque, 18 on guitars; Alden Acosta, 17 on guitars and Lemuel Belaro, 19 on drums, these guys are new additions to the energetic band scene that blossomed after a couple of years in doldrums.

The band got its start when Kean meat Tatsi in high-school and became bandmates. No, they didn't get their name from a flower. Kean and Tatsi joined a Battle of the Bands search in Pateros but their band has yet to have a name. Satisfying his hunger with bread in a bakery after a rehearsal, Kean liked the bread so much he asked the vendor of its name. “Callalily,” he was told and the rest as we say is history. It was only later that they came to know its true meaning. When they entered college (Kean as music major at UST and Tatsi as nursing student at FEU), luck and started knocking on their door when Tatsi closed a gig at popular bar Mayric's. However, there was only Kean and Tatsi at that time. To fill in the void, Kean got his college friend Aaron as basist. Alden and Lemuel (also UST music students) were taken in as guitarist and drummer respectively through an audition.Their first gig at Mayric's elicited early admiration from a new people.“It was weird because during our first gig, somebody asked to have a photo with us when in fact we were virtual unknowns,” Kean said.

Little did they know that it will be the shape of things to come. Band manager Darwin Hernandez took notice of the band when they performed alongside 6cyclemind during an event. He immediately got Callalily to his fold. Soon more gigs followed. But the biggest break came when Sony BMG signed Callalily.“It's like an impossible dream for us,” Kean said. “we thought it only happens in movies.”The result--”Destination XYZ,” an album described as pop alternative with a touch of rock, speaks of their personal experiences, love, friendship and emotions wanting to be expressed. Produced by 6cyclemind guitarist Rye Sarmiento, it boasts of songs written by the members themselves topbilled by “Stars,” a single written by Lemuel about love lost.

The single recently peaked at #1 on MYX. Likewise, he penned “Magbalik,” and “Pasan,” an adaptation of “Footprints in the Sand.” Kean contributed “Kung Kaya Ko Lang,” “Sanctuary,” “Cool Off,” “Yakap” and “take My Hand,” the single he dedicated to depressed persons. What a UP student is not???

University of the Philippines is one of the best and most prestigious universities we have in our country. This is because, UP has smart, and intelligent and understanding students who are expressive of what they really fell. That is one aspect right there, where people misunderstand about us. It’s a democratic country after all, so everybody has a right, the right to express of what we really feel but they think that UP students are uncivilized, no manners, which is obviously very, very wrong.

We are "Iskolar ng Bayan"; we are called this way because we are poor but deserving students. Obviously, you cannot be considered as an "Iskolar" if you are uncivilized and do not have manners. To be called in this way, Is such a great honor for me, it is really something we can be proud of.

It is really an honor for me to have a school like UP ever since. However, like other people, my parents also think twice before if they would submit my application form to this fabulous university. Just because, they are afraid that one day, they would just find out that they are son is involved in protests and rallies. So What? I do not care. It is a free country after all. Protests and rallies are a helpful tool in the government. Through this, corrupt government officials can realize that what they are doing is bad.

To give a description of what a UP student is not. Here it is:
-A UP student is not revolutionary, even if UP students are usually involves in protest and rallies, that does not tell that they are revolutionary, they are just expressive of what they feel.
-A UP student is not shy, hay are always on the go for presentations, stage plays and dramas.
-A UP student is not uncivilized, UP students are respectful
-A UP student is not rich, you cannot be called as an "Iskolar ng Bayan" if you are rich because that feat is only for poor and deserving students.
-A UP student is not insensitive, UP students are also human beings, they also get hurt every time they hear the bad side comments from the people.
-A UP student does not think only of their selves, they also think of others.
-A UP student does not give side comments directly, not like other people who just give side comments without thinking that they could hurt other people's feeling.
-A UP student is not dull; they are all smart and intelligent.
-A UP student does not easily give up, if they feel that they are right, they will really fight for it, especially if it benefits to all of us.

That is just a brief description only of what a UP student is not. There are still many. So people out there whom, who thinks of UP students as insensitive and uncivilized, maybe your tongue just slipped and it would be better if you stop giving useless side comments and just let the UPians express of what they really fell because you do not know how tough UPians is.

ONE IN A MILLION GIRL

In general,” one in a million girl" refers to a certain girl that is very unique, special and someone you would always want and NEED, once in every million or even billion of girls you would meet everyday. So guys, If you would meet them, please hold them as tight as you can and never let the slip away from you.

Right now, I am admiring one unique and special girl in the campus (you know who you are).I consider this girl as "one in a million”. If I were to describe this girl, I would say that she is not the typical goddess of beauty with blond looks, blue eyes and long legs. But this "one in a million girl" has this glow, a sheen that is beautifully alluring. She has an innocence that is refreshing as a breaking dawn. She owns a 100-watt smile, a face that could even launch World War III. But this is not the only reason why I admire her a lot, It’s just that I enjoy being with her even though she is not comfortable being with me sometimes. But what the HELL I care about that, what’s important is that I like her so much.

As time runs, this girl started to suspect my actions, why I always call her help even if I can manage it on my own. If why I am so affected whenever I hear her lovely name. And since that time on, she kept on asking me who my crush is and my classmates also started to tease us.

Revelations came last November when my fellow UPians and me celebrated the "Athlete’s Night”. Luckily, she was there too. Even that night, she still has not stopped asking me. Bravery and courage were written all over my face at that moment when I suddenly answered her that it’s "you”. When she heard that, she was stunned for a moment and then she ask me if it is true, I replied "yes”. After that moment, I was very ashamed that I directly went home.

In a span of about two months, my feelings for her changed. I do not admire her anymore, I do not have the usual feelings for her and I do not like her anymore. It is just that I already love her so much. Thinking that she is not yet ready for any love stuffs, I did not court her. Therefore, I told her that I would wait for her even how long it is and I promised her that I will never ever stop loving her.Luckily, she was okay with that. So until now, my feelings for her didn't changed. I still love her so much that I kept on thinking about her every second of my life. I will never, ever stop loving you nor lose you because loving you this much is really my destiny and you're the main reason why I'm still breathing and still living as of to this point, in short,” YOU’RE MY LIFE".

MY IDOL: K.B. #24

I entered this big world with no knowledge and skills about basketball. Due to the influence of my father and three brothers who were basketball addicts. I became one too. I grew up in this world idolizing only one basketball player out of millions of millions and his name is KOBE BRYANT.

If I were to describe him inside and out, I can say that he is wearing jersey no.24,he is playing as a starting guard for the Los Angeles Lakers, he is standing 6 feet 6 inches tall, he has burnt out legs that have broken thousands of thousands of ankles, which considers him as one of the greatest ankle breakers in NBA history, he has hands that can shoot from any part of the court without a degree of difficulty ,he has heart as big as his imagination that gives him the courage and confidence to shoot buzzer beaters in the dying seconds of the game .But if you would ask me why I like him so much, I would say that it's not because he is the scoring champion of the NBA last season, it’s not that he averages 30.4 points per game this season ,it's not that he has already won 2 M.V.P awards, it’s not that he holds the record for most made three's in a single game, it’s not that he has the second highest point total in NBA history, which is 81 points. I idolize him this much just because of his love for the game, his passion and his desire to win each game. He is playing every game as if it is his last. He always encourages his teammates; He is an all-around leader on and off the court. This is the main reason why I really enjoy him playing the game of basketball.

Watching him play the game is already a fun, nice, exciting and thrilling movie for me compared to those in theaters. You will be stun for a moment watching him display his moves. You will be taken out of your seats by his rim-rocking slam-dunks. You will be amazed by his jaw-dropping crossover and spin moves. Your eyes will pop-out as he makes every jump shot he takes.

I have so many values learned during the stretch of idolizing him. I have learned that "selfishness" is rally a bad practice. You must share your God-given talents and skills, in which KOBE exactly did. He taught many kids the basic skills of basketball. I learned from him that giving to those who are in need is very good. In fact, he established a foundation, which helps kids who cannot go to school due to insufficient money to enter his training day camp, which aims not only to teach the game of basketball but also to teach the values we can get from this game.

I have never felt tired idolizing this person just because he satisfies me with every performance he makes. I am very thankful to him because I really learned many values from him as an individual and he is really the main reason why I have this talent and skills for the game of basketball.
